147.18 repeater maintenance

Post by wb5rmg » Mon May 25, 2009 10:15 am

Wanted to let the HARC/NARA club members know that sometime in the next month or so the 147.18 repeater will be off the air for awhile due to a new tower install. During that time the .18 rptr will be off the air. Please pass the word to weather net folks as .18 is their fall back repeater if .94 is down. They'll need to make plans to temporarily use another repeater as backup. There is the NARA 145.33, W4VM's 147.10 or my 145.23 that could be used during the interim. As more firm details emerge we'll probably post a message on .94 and .18.

Thanks Ralph for the heads-up... /;^)

The latest I heard is that the repeater may not go offline at all or just for a short time.

As we discussed at the last ARES (June) meeting 147.220+ PL 136.5 K4RSB is a great backup repeater as well with great coverage.

Long time ARES members may remember the field trip to the repeater on top of a water tower on Monte Sano.

Try it out one of these days!
