STORM SPOTTERS CLASS
The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the National Weather Service in Huntsville, is sponsoring a Storm Spotters Class on Thursday, February 9, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The class will be held at the Guntersville Town Hall (341 Gunter Avenue, Guntersville-Alabama).
The class is free and open to the public.
Severe weather is a fact of life in Marshall County. In preparation for our Spring Severe Weather Season, now is the time for you and your family to know what to look for and how to report Severe Weather that you may see near your home, work or school. Even with advancements in technology, such as Doppler radar, EMA and NWS officials must still rely on a network of trained volunteers to become our eyes and ears on the ground to provide better weather watch and warning services. You could be the one to make a difference, and be an asset to our community.
In memory of the lives lost during the April 27, 2011 Tornado Outbreak, please take the time to attend this valuable and potentially lifesaving class.
No registration is required and the class is free to everyone. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Marshall County EMA at 256-571-7329.
